What is the value of x? Round your answer to the nearest tenth if necessary.

Mathematics

trapecia [35]3 years ago
7 0

Answer:

8.1

Step-by-step explanation:

The previous answerer is definitly correct. The number rounded to the nearest <u>Hundreths place</u> is 8.06 but since its asking for the <u>Tenths place</u> the answer closest to 8.06 is 8.1. To get this answer, multiply 7 by itself, that equals 49, then multiply 4 by itself, that is 16. Add both of those to get \sqrt{65}. 65 squared is 8.0622577483 which is rounded to 8.1 because it asks you to round it by the <u>Tenths place. </u> Please choose someone to be brailiest. -----Cyrusskywalker

So to start off:

The equation you will want to use for the hypotenuse is

A (squared) + B (squared) = C (squared)

So you will want to fill in the equation like so:

7(7) + 4(4) = C (squared)

So now that you have your information filled out, put it all together!

49 + 16 = 65

Now don't forget that the 65 is SQUARED!

You will want to use the SQUARE ROOT method to help with that!

So what you will want to do is think of the numbers that are PERFECT SQUARES.

A perfect square consist of

Here is the list of perfect squares 1-10:

1 x 1 = 1

2 x 2 = 4

3 x 3 = 9

4 x 4 = 16

5 x 5 = 25

6 x 6 = 36

7 x 7 = 49

8 x 8 = 64

9 x 9 = 81

So look closely at these perfect squares, Do you see where 65 will lie?

It will lie between 8 and 9.

So you will do the square root now.

√65

The answer will come out as:

<span>8.06225775</span>

<span>You will then round it to the nearest tenths place (one after the decimal)</span>

You will look at the two numbers behind the decimal which is

0.6.

As you know,(If you round the tenths place), if the number in the hundredths is 5 or HIGHER. It will round up the number in the tenths place to 1.

So as we know 6 is higher than 5 so your answer would be:

8.1

I hope this helped! :)

This net can be folded to make a square pyramid. what is the surface area of the pyramid
givi [52]

Answer:

85in^2

Step-by-step explanation:

to find the surface area we need to find the followng areas:

  • area of the square
  • area of a triangle and multiply it by 4 (because there are 4 triangles)

And once we have those areas, we add them to find the surface area.

Area of the square:

the formula to find the area of a square is:

a_{square}=l^2

where l is the length of the side: l=5in

thus the area of the square is:

a_{square}=(5in)^2

a_{square}=25in^2

Area of the triangles:

the are of 1 triangle is given by

a_{triangle} =\frac{b*h}{2}

where b is the base of the triangle: b=5in (the base of the triangle is the side of the square)

and h is the height of the triangle: h=6in

thus, the area of 1 triangle is:

a_{triangle} =\frac{(5in)*(6in)}{2}

a_{triangle} =\frac{30in^2}{2}

a_{triangle} =15in^2

the area of the 4 triangles is (we multiply by 4):

a_{4-triangles}=4(15in^2)

a_{4-triangles}=60in^2

finally we add the area of the square and the area of the 4 triangles to find the total surface area:

Surface=25in^2+60in^2

Surface=85in^2

What is the gcf of 25 and 90
Yuliya22 [10]
25 = 5^2
90 = 2 . 3 . 3 . 5

GCF is not as greedy as LCM.
GCF is just on a diet, so it takes the same number and the smallest amount.

25 and 90 both have 5.
5^2 or 5 ?
Take the smaller one.
GCF = 5
