3/4 x=576
x=576 x 4/3=2304/3=$768 price of laptop. $768 x .06 tax=46.08 add to 768=$814.08 for the total cost of the laptop

576=.75x  ($576 is 75% of what?)
Divide both sides by .75 to isolate x cancels out the .75 on the side with the x
x=576/.75=768 cost of the computer without sales tax
To find it with sales tax:
First you multiply the cost by the tax rate to get the tax
768*.06=46.08 is the sales tax
Then you add the tax to the cost to get the total cost
768+46.08=814.08 is the price of the computer with sales tax

So your two answers are $768 without tax and $814.08 with tax.

A coal car on a train weighs 30 tons plus 1 ton per cubic yard of coal x that it carries. The total weight of a coal car is: f(x
alisha [4.7K]

Answer: Then the graph of the function f(x) will change shifting vertically down (because the negative sign in 4) by 4 tons.

Option c. The line will shift vertically down by 4 tons.

Solution:

Total weight of a coal car: f(x)=x+30

How will the graph of this function change if the coal car weight is changed to 26 tons?

The total weight of the coal car would be: g(x)=x+26

f(x)=x+30

30=26+4

f(x)=x+26+4

g(x)=x+26

f(x)=g(x)+4

Subtracting 4 both sides of the equation:

f(x)-4=g(x)+4-4

f(x)-4=g(x)

g(x)=f(x)-4

Then the graph of the function f(x) will change shifting vertically down (because the negative sign in 4) by 4 tons.

A boy is mowing a rectangular lawn 40ft long and 30ft wide. He has cut all of it except for a rectangle that is 20ft long and 15
sergejj [24]

Answer:

1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the area of the full rectangle:

=> 40 x 30 = 1200

Find the area of the uncut part:

=> 20 x 15

=> 300

Make these numbers as a fraction.

=> 300 / 1200

=> 3/12

=> 1/4

So, 1/4 part remains uncut.

What is 92/100 simplified to lowest terms
nataly862011 [7]
Well you have to find the GCF. The GCF in this problem would be 4. So divide 92 and 100 by 4. 92/4 is 23 and 100/4 is 25. So 92/100  is 23/25 in lowest terms.
