Read the excerpt from "A Quilt of a Country."
pentagon [3]

Answer:

The connotative meaning of the "fault lines" in the excerpt is something that is powerful and threatening to others.

Explanation:

Anna Quindlen, a Pulitzer-Prize winning author wrote a commentary on the Sept 11 bombing for the Newsweek. In her article "A Quilt Of A Country", she points out that America is home for many nationals who had come there to get a new start or a better way of life. And with this diversity, there is also unity. So, when there are threats of any kind, these different nationalities all come together, united against the common enemy. There may be "fault lines" that demarcates and separates people to people, but in times of crisis and common fight against evil such as terrorism, people forget their national identities and become Americans first. And this is what makes America great in comparison to any other country.

babymother [125]

Answer:

On other hand, cell phones are also extremely distracting and probably are best left outside of classroom.

Explanation:

To explain the growth of Technology today, especially among the young generation is simply vast. A 10 year old is given the phone to keep the child from whining the busy parent, and by the age 13, every kid carries an phone. In such cases, the use of cell phones by young children are assumed to be left alone as a remedy. Which is not the right thing to do, because classroom is the only place where students get to have a proper connection with one another without the use of a gadget.

Educomp and other facilities which are already enough educational tools, the allowance of use of cell phones in class even for the good purpose is a freedom for an individual to face more danger in life and also not know the value of it. After all, knowledge is not the only key to success.

On other hand, cell phones are also extremely distracting and probably are best left outside of classroom.
