Answer:

15 blocks I think

Step-by-step explanation:

The first step would be to move forward three blocks north. Next you would take a sharp angle to the northeast for a total of 3.6 blocks. We found this number treating the angle as the hypotenuse of a triangle. Using the Pythagorean theorem: A^2 + B^2 = C^2. By this logic we can find that 6^2 + 3^2 = C^2 or 45. Then you must find the square root of 45 in order to discover what the distance of C was. Later, after moving two more blocks to the north and to the east, we must use the Pythagorean theorem again to calculate the distance of the next angle. This is a total of 6.7 blocks. After adding all these values together you get a total of 15.3 blocks that Jane has to walk to get to work.

(I am unsure if this is the correct way to solve the problem. This is how I found this answer tho and it told me I was correct. Good luck ;))

Point A is located at (4, 8) and point B is located at (14, 10) . What point partitions the directed line segment AB⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯
andrew11 [14]

The 1:3 ratio means that the distance from A to the point is 1/4 of the distance from A to B.

The difference of y-coordinates is 10-8 = 2. 1/4 of that is 2·1/4 = 1/2, so the point of interest will have y-coordinate 8 + 1/2 = 8 1/2. This apparently corresponds to the first selection:

finley's pumpkin had a mass of 6.5 kilograms before he carved it. after carving it, the pumpkin had a mass of 3.9 kg. what was t
maksim [4K]

Answer:

40%

Explanation:

To find the percent decrease, use the formula

% decrease = (amount of decrease)/(original amount)

The amount of decrease in the pumpkin is

6.5 - 3.9 = 2.6

The original amount is 6.5.

This gives us 2.6/6.5 = 0.4 = 40%
