A clothing business finds there is a linear relationship between the number of shirts, n , it can sell and the price, p , it can

charge per shirt. In particular, historical data shows that 19000 shirts can be sold at a price of $ 34 , while 24000 shirts can be sold at a price of $ 14 . Give a linear equation in the form p = m n + b that gives the price p they can charge for n shirts

Linear equation is p = (-0.004) n + 110

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

We have, p = price, n = no. of shirts , m = slope,

b = constant (y - intercept)

linear equation as<em> , </em>\boldsymbol{p}=(\boldsymbol{m} \times \boldsymbol{n})+\boldsymbol{b}<em>   </em>                       .....(1)

(p,n)= ($34, 19000) & ($14, 24000)

putting above values in equation (1) we get,

⇒<em> 34 = (19000×m) + b ⇒  </em>m=\frac{(34-b)}{19000}            .... (2)

and, <em>14 = (24000×m) + b ⇒  </em>m=\frac{(14-b)}{24000}          ....(3)

Equating equations (2) & (3),

⇒ \frac{(14-b)}{24000}=\frac{(34-b)}{19000}<em />

<em>⇒ </em>\frac{(14-b)}{24}=\frac{(34-b)}{19}<em />

<em>⇒</em><em> </em><em>19 (14 – b) = 24 (34 – b)</em>

<em>⇒ </em>(19 \times 14)-19 b=(24 \times 34)-24 b<em />

<em>⇒ </em>24 b-19 b=-(19 \times 14)+(24 \times 34)<em />

<em>⇒ </em>5 b=-(19 \times 14)+(24 \times 34)<em />

<em>⇒ </em>5 \mathrm{b}=-266+816=550<em />

<em>⇒ </em>\mathrm{b}=\frac{550}{5}=110<em />

<em>⇒ </em><em>b = 110</em>

Now, m=\frac{(14-110)}{24000}=\frac{-96}{24000}=-0.004

putting values of m & b in equation (1) we get :

      p=(-0.004) n+110

What is the volume of the plastic rocket???
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

151 in^3

Step-by-step explanation:

The rocket consists of two shapes - a cone and a cylinder

the volume of the plastic = volume of cone + volume of cylinder

volume of a cylinder = nr^2h

Volume of a cone 1/3(nr^2h)

n = 22/7

r = radius

the diameter is the straight line that passes through the center of a circle and touches the two edges of the circle.

A radius is half of the diameter

Radius = 5/2 = 2.5

Height of cone = 11 - 6 = 5

Volume of plastic = (22/7) x (2/5^2) x 6  + (1/3) x (22/7) x (2/5^2) x 5 = 117.9 + 32.7 = 150.6 in^3 = 151

What must be included in an algebraic
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer:

B. you need atleast one variable for an algebraic expression.

an equals sign would make it an algebraic equation,

just a coefficient and a variable is the most basic algebraic expression. you don't need anything other than those for an expression. you can have more than one number, and more than one operation, but they don't have to be there.

Step-by-step explanation:

i hope this helps :))
