Answer: Option C

Step-by-step explanation:

the blue tiles are positive, and the red ones are negative.

The upper ones are a number and the lower ones are other, so the equations that we have are:

upper: x^2 + 4x - 2

lower: x^2 - 2x + 4

so this can be written as:

then we have:

upper + lower = (x^2 + 4x - 2) + (x^2 - 2x + 4) = 2x^2 + 2x + 2

Then the correct option is C, while this is written as:

(x^2 + 4x - 2) - (-x^2 + 2x - 4) = 2x^2 + 2x + 2

Where you can distribute the minus sign with the second parentheses, and get our previous equation.

A cheetah can run at top speed for only about 20 seconds. If an antelope is too far away for a cheetah to catch it in 20 seconds
Lisa [10]
The friend would be incorrect. The antelope  running 60 feet per second will be safe if the cheetah running at 90 feet per second is 650 feet behind it. To prove this, we can calculate the time it takes for the cheetah to reach the initial position of the antelope which is 650 ft from its initial position. We do as follows:

time to reach 650 ft = 650 ft / 90 ft/s = 7.22 s

After 7.22 s, the antelope would be,

distance of the antelope = 60 ft /s (7.22 s) = 433.33 ft

It would be 433.33 ft away from its initial position. So, the cheetah would not be able to reach the antelope when it travels 650 ft.

How many extraneous solutions exist for the logarithmic equation below if it is solved in the most efficient way possible?log_(2
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

No extraneous solution

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the logarithmic equation given by,

\log_{2}[\log_{2}(\sqrt{4x})]=1

i.e. \log_{2}(\sqrt{4x})=2^{1}

i.e. \sqrt{4x}=2^{2}

i.e. \sqrt{4x}=4

i.e. 4x=4^{2}

i.e. 4x=16

i.e. x=4

So, the solution of the given equation is x=4.

Now, as we domain of square root function is x > 0 and also, the domain of logarithmic function is ( 0,\infty ).

Therefore, the domain of the given function is x > 0.

We know that the extraneous solution is the solution which does  not belong to the domain.

But as x=4 belongs to the domain x > 0.

Thus, x = 4 is not an extraneous solution.

Hence, this equation does not have any extraneous solution.

Solve please. 20 points.
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

336 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Well theres not exactly a formula, I jsut solve the 3 faces and then double it all since 2 are the same for each except for 1 so the first side is the 10X12 one. that would give you 60 and then you double that and get 120 since 2 same faces.

The next one the 6X13  one is just a sideways rectangle, a=lw and that would be 78. Two faces same side double 78 and get 156.

Now the final side is the bottom which is jsut 10X6. a=lw and that would eqaul 60. No need to double since thats the only side that doesn’t have a duplicate. Add all your result up and you would get

336 cm^2
