Answer:

The answer to your question is 2 1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Data

First day = 3/4

Second day = 1 1/8

Third day = 1 1/2

Process

1.- Find the difference between the distances

          1 1/8 - 3/4  =  (8 + 1)/8 - 3/4

                            = 9/8 - 3/4

                            = (9 - 6)/8

                            = 3/8

         1 1/2 - 1 1/8 = (2 + 1)/2 - (8 + 1)/8

                           = 3/2 + 9/8

                           = (12 + 9) / 8

                           = 3/8

2.- Find the distance she ran the fifth day

5th = 1 1/2 + 3/8 + 3/8

       = 3/2 + 3/8 + 3/8

       = 12/8 + 3/8 + 3/8

       = 18/8

       = 9/4

      = 2 1/4

P-3=-4 solve the equation and check the solution
marishachu [46]

To solve the equation, you need to isolate/get the variable "P" by itself in the equation:

P - 3 = -4      Add 3 on both sides to get "P" by itself

P - 3 + 3 = -4 + 3

P = -1

PROOF

P - 3 = -4      Plug in -1 for P

-1 - 3 = -4

-4 = -4
