Answer:

The mixture can be separated by a simple activity.

Explanation:

The mixture of sand and sugar can be separated by a simple activity.

  • AIM: To separate the mixture of sand and sugar.
  • Apparatus required: Conical flask, filter paper, filter funnel, stirring rod, evaporating dish and a beaker.
  • Procedure:
  1. Take the mixture of sand and sugar in a beaker.
  2. Add some water in the beaker and mix it completely with the stirring rod.
  3. Apply the filter paper in the filter funnel and separate the water from this mixture in the conical flask.
  4. Now put this filtered water in the evaporating dish and heat this water until the water in it evaporate.

After evaporation, the sugar will left behind in the dish.

  • Result: The sugar will left behind in the evaporating dish.
  • Precautions:
  1. Use proper safety equipment.
  2. Filter the mixture of sand and sugar carefully to separate the residue from it.

Aluminum reacts with excess hydrochloric acid to form aqueous aluminum chloride and 190.6 ml of hydrogen gas (collected over wat
melamori03 [73]

Answer:

0.1296 grams of aluminum reacted

Explanation:

Equation of reaction:

2Al + 6HCl = 2AlCl3 + 3H2

From the ideal gas equation

PV = nRT

n = PV/RT

P = (25.2/760)atm + 0.89atm = 0.923 atm

V = 190.6 ml = 190.6cm^3

R = 82.057cm^3.atm/gmol.K

T = 26°C = 26+273K = 299K

n = 0.923×190.6/82.057×299 = 0.0072 moles of H2

From the equation of reaction

3 moles of hydrogen gas is formed from 2 moles of aluminum

Therefore, 0.0072 moles of hydrogen gas is formed from (0.0072×2/3 = 0.0048) moles of aluminum

Number of moles of aluminum that reacted = 0.0048 moles

Mass of aluminum that reacted = number of moles × MW = 0.0048 × 27 = 0.1296 grams

A meal containing a burger, fries, and a milkshake contains 53.0 grams of fat, 38.0 grams of protein, and 152 grams of carbohydr
RSB [31]

Answer:

286 minutes

Explanation:

Given the content of fat in a meal= 53g

the content of protien in a meal= 38g

the content of carbohydrate in a meal= 152g

Also given that fuel value of protien = 17 KJ/g

the fuel value of fat = 38 KJ/g

the fuel value of carbohydrate = 17 KJ/g

Now to burn all the molecules the energy recquired is content of molecule times the fuel value.

the energy recquired to burn fat = 53\times 38=2014KJ

the energy recquired to burn protien = 38\times 17=646KJ

the energy recquired to burn carbohydrate =152 \times 17=2584KJ

The total energy=2014+646+2584=5244KJ

The energy spent on swimming is 1100KJ/hour

for 1 hour 1100 KJ are spent

to spend 5244 KJ of energy the time taken is = \frac{5244}{1100}=4.76hours

We know 1 hour=60 minutes

The total time = 4.76\times 60=286minutes
