<span>The answer is C. Hormones. The rise of level of hormones like testosterone during puberty is one of the causes for acne. Testosterone stimulates the skin glands to produce more sebum. Sebum is oil like and protects and smooths the skin. If the sebum is clogged between dead cells, it causes bacteria to grow. This causes acne.</span>
