See the picture attached to better understand the problem

we know that
in the right triangle ABD
tan 27°=BD/AD-----> BD=(3.5-x)*tan 27°------> equation 1

in the right triangle BDC
tan 41°=BD/DC-----> BD=x*tan 41°-----> equation 2

equate equation 1 and equation 2
(3.5-x)*tan 27°=x*tan 41°----> 3.5*tan 27-x*tan 27=x*tan 41
x*[tan 27+tan 41]=3.5*tan 27
x=3.5*tan 27/[tan 27+tan 41]-----> x=1.29 miles

BD=x*tan 41-----> BD=1.29*tan 41°----> BD=1.124 miles

convert miles to ft
1 mile-------> 5280 ft
1.124 miles----> x
x=1.124*5280-----> x=5934.72 ft

the answer is
the altitude of the balloon in feet is 5934.72

A store is selling two mixtures of coffee beans in one-pound bags. The first mixture has 12 ounces of Sumatra combined with 4 ou
ololo11 [35]
We let x as the cost of one ounce of Sumatra and y as the cost of one ounce of Celebes Kalossi. For mixture 1, we have 12x + 4y = 32 and for mixture b, we have 4x + 12y = 40

First, Multiply eq. 1 by 4
4(12x + 4y = 32)4        ⇒    36x + 12y = 96

We now have
(36x + 12y = 96) – (4x + 12y = 40)
X = 1.75 ⇒ cost of one ounce of Sumatra

Substitute x to either equation to get the value of y
12(1.75) + 4y = 324
y = 32-21
4y = 11
Y = 2.75 ⇒ cost of one ounce of Celebes Kalossi

(-4t^5) (-10t) NEED AN ANSWER VERY SOON !! PLEASE HELP!!!!
hammer [34]

Answer:

40t⁶

Step-by-step explanation:

Since -4t⁵ and -10t have the same variable (base), we can multiply their coefficients (numbers) and add their exponents

-4t⁵ * -10t = 40t⁶

Since both numbers are negative, when we multiply them, they cancel out.

SInce both variables are the same (both are t), we can just add their exponents together. Even though we don't see an exponent above -10t, we can assume that it is 1. Think of it as this, -10t = -10t¹ because it just represents -10t, -10t (specifically the t) isn't being multiplied by anything.

So the pyramid looks like the one in the picture below.

notice, the bottom of the pyramid is a square, thus is called that, and each side is 3 units long, thus
