Answer:

Explanation:Life on the fields meant working sunup to sundown six days a week and having food sometimes not suitable for an animal to eat. Plantation slaves lived in small shacks with a dirt floor and little or no furniture. Life on large plantations with a cruel overseer was oftentimes the worst.

on a typical plantation, slaves worked ten or more hours a day, "from day clean to first dark," six days a week, with only the Sabbath off. At planting or harvesting time, planters required slaves to stay in the fields 15 or 16 hours a day

Which of the following is NOT an example of how Africans viewed land?
tatuchka [14]

Answer:

Depending on which African tribes you're talking about can vary the answer. Some African American tribes view land as something that everybody shares. and that everybody can use. Some that were affected by the British think of land as privately owned. I think the answer (Land was so important it was often controlled by a community's leader) is the correct answer to your question. I've never read anything about land being so important that it was controlled by the leader.

Good luck, I hope this helps.

Which of the following best represents a view supported by the
Karo-lina-s [1.5K]

Answer:

D. People can govern themselves in a republic.

Explanation:

Two examples of Enlightenment views in support of people's ability to govern themselves would be the thinking of John Locke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

According to Locke's view, a government's power to govern comes from the consent of the people themselves -- those who are to be governed. He argued for a representative form of government in which legislators were put in place by having the majority of people supporting them. Then the leaders would need to govern in such a way that the people's rights to life, liberty, and property were protected.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778), in his landmark book, The Social Contract, strongly championed the sovereignty of the people (rather than thinking of kings as the "sovereign" ones). Rousseau contended that the "general will" of the people is always right -- in the sense that the people will, collectively, make decisions that are good for them as a society.
