Christianity is not a western religion. It originated on the Western fringe of Asia – what we tend to call the ‘Middle East’. However, for many centuries the expansion of Christianity was directed from Europe and became entangled with the growth of the great European empires. Today over two-thirds of the world’s Christians live outside Europe, which has reverted to what it was in the days of the early Church – unbelieving territory on the margins of the faith. The texts that you can look at here tell part of the story of how European Christians spread their message. They reveal some of their assumptions that we might now find strange or unacceptable. They also point to some of the reasons why Christianity would eventually take deep roots in other cultures – not least through the translation of the Bible into many different languages.

why does King think the tension stirred up by his protest movement promotes social and political reform.
Kisachek [45]
King believes that through staging mass action movements, he and his followers were making it clear not only to the U.S. but to world that racism and inequality exists.  Through drawing the country’s attention to civil rights, it could spur government into action to protect African American’s rights to treated as equals.

Television changed the culture of the United States and later the world. Americans began buying televisions in the 1950s, and by
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

The TV had a huge impact on American society during the 50s. The major reason was that the Republican and Democratic conventions were broadcasted live from Philadelphia to the rest of the country. This increased the importance of TV in society. Now rural America was not isolated anymore, they were a part of society.

Then national tv shows got famous, news, sports, and events were broadcasted. Television allowed America to become one and regional cultural differences were reduced and a general American culture became famous and united the country. People from rural America feel like migrating to another area.

This way TV can be seen as the major point that changed American culture and society.
