The electron transport chain takes place in mitochondria.

Explanation:

Aerobic respiration is the main respiratory system of most of the animals. In humans, it is the exclusive respiratory system. There are three processes involved in aerobic respiration. They are glycolysis, Kreb's Cycle and electron transport chain. The glycolysis takes place in Cytoplasm, and the rest takes place in mitochondria. The Kreb's Cycle takes place in mitochondrial matrix, and the Electron Transport Chain takes place in inner mitochondrial membrane. In the inner mitochondrial membrane are embedded different electron carriers in form of complexes, which are complex 1a, 1b, 2, 3, and 4. Electrons get transported through these carriers and atlast gets accepted by oxygen.

Coach Taylor is trying to explain the negative side effects smoking has to athletic performance. Which of these options include
Darina [25.2K]

Smoking have life-threatening effects on a smoker's lungs. A smoker is at a high risk of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. In order for a coach to explain the destructive effects of smoking on the performance of the athletes, it is best to show a diagram of the flow of the oxygen-rich blood in a non-smoker's body and then the flow of blood with less-oxygen in smoker's body. This will show the difference between the two situations clearly, and show how the airway resistance effects the performance of a person.

Hence, the answer is 'option C - Diagram the flow of oxygen-rich blood in non-smoker's body and the, diagram of flow of blood with less oxygen in smoker's body'.

Phosphofructokinase (PFK) is an enzyme that converts fructose 6-phosphate to fructose 1,6-bisphosphate, by adding a phosphate gr
erica [24]

Answer:

D. Allosteric activator

Explanation:

In an enzyme, the allosteric site is a site/motif different from the active site, (i.e., the site with catalytic activity) which is able to interact with regulatory effector molecules in order to activate or inhibit enzymatic activity by influencing the tridimensional (3D) structure of the enzyme. An allosteric activator is an effector molecule with the ability to bind to a specific enzyme at a different site than the active site, thereby modifying the shape of the enzyme and increasing the affinity of this enzyme for its substrate. Moreover, Adenosine monophosphate (AMP) is a nucleotide composed of a phosphate group, a sugar ribose, and an Adenine (A) base. This effector molecule (AMP) has shown to allosterically stimulate diverse enzymes in physiological conditions (e.g., AMP-activated protein kinase).
