Cognitive process or the Cognition is the process of attaining Knowledge and Understanding. Psychologists believe that cognition is based on thoughts, experiences and the senses of a human being.

Social Cognitive perspective is the process of Cognition in which the person acquire knowledge or experience through directly observing others within the context of social interaction. This interaction can be direct or indirect, like person to person interaction, or observing the person through some media.

The perspective of Social Cognitive theory about personality emphasizes that the cognitive processes like thinking, observing, judging, etc are crucial in the development of one's personality.
