Answer:

a. They all get the same quantity of ice cream.

b. Fraction of the pint of ice cream that will be left is 1/5

Step-by-step explanation:

Tape diagram is attached to support reasoning.

a. Youngest grandchild 1/5 of the ice cream

Middle grandchild 1/4 of the remaining ice

The remaining ice is 4/5.

To get how much he gave to the middle grandchild we make 1/4 x 4/5

For fraction multiplication, multiply the numerators and then multiply the denominators to get

1×4/4×5=4/20

This fraction can be reduced by dividing both the numerator and denominator by the Greatest Common Factor of 4 and 20 using

GCF(4,20) = 4

=1/4×4/5=1/5

We make the same for the last grand child.

Remaining ice is 3/5 ( we discount the previous servings)

=1/3 x 3/5= 1/5

b. If Grandpa serves himself the same amount, 1/5,

That will be 1/5 for each person ( they are 4 persons),  we use 4/5

Then, will be left 1/5

Formulate the indicated conclusion in nontechnical terms. Be sure to address the original claim.
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

a) There is not sufficient evidence to support the claim that the mean attendance is greater than 642.

Step-by-step explanation:

since in the question it is mentioned that the average attendance at games should be more 642 and according to this he moving the team with a larger stadium. Also the hypothesis conducted and the conclusion would be failure to deny the null hypothesis

So here the conclusion that should be made in non-technical term is that there should be no enough proof in order to support the claim that the mean attendence is more than $642

Lara bought 3 yards of fabric and a spool of thread for $28.10. If the spool of thread cost $1.25, how much did the fabric cost
Lyrx [107]

Answer: $8.95 per yard of fabric

Step-by-step explanation:

Define the following:

x = cost of fabric per yard

Make an equation:

⇒ 3x + 1.25 = 28.10

⇒ 3x = 26.85

⇒ x = 8.95

∴ $8.95 per yard of fabric
