So answer is C.

Hmm first I'll check the slanted line cutting 2nd quardrant..

some points on this line are (-3,0),(0,3),(2,5),(3,6),etc.

Testing (-3,0)=(x,y):

y=-3+3=0 (true)..comparable with y=x+3

Testing (2,5)=(x,y):

y=2+3=5 (true)..comparable with y=x+3

Since this line bounds the value within some limits less than or equal to x+3(see graph you can see it clearly)...so it can be represented by y<=x+3.

Similarly for next line cutting 1st and 4th quardrant,

Points: (0,-4),(1,-1),(2,2),etc..

Testing (0,-4)=(x,y):

y=3*0-4=-4(true)...comparable with y=3x-4

Testing (1,-1)=(x,y):

y=3*1-4=-1(true)...comparable with y=3x-4

This line bounds within the region y>3x-4

NOTE:

1)If the region is bounded by solid line(line without dot) then you write inequality as y<=something or y>= something.

2)If the region is bounded by dotted line(line withdot) then you write inequality as y<something or y> something.

Hope this helps!

In the expansion of (ax+1)^7
the fifth term is 945x^3
Find the value of a.
Advocard [28]

Answer:

a = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

First start writing out the binomial expansion of (ax + 1)^7

[1^7] + [7C1 * 1^6 *(ax)] + [7C2*1^5*(ax)^2]+[7C3*1^4*(ax)^3]

as you can see from this, the last bracket will produce our x^3 term

7C3*1^4*a^3x^3 \\35a^3x^3\\35a^3 = 945\\a^3 = 27\\a = 3

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions :)

The temperature T of a refrigerator is at least 35°F and at most 41°F. Write a compound
s344n2d4d5 [400]

The compound inequality for the temperature T of a refrigerator that is at least 35°F and at most 41°F is 35 ≤ T ≤ 41

A compound inequality has two inequality statements joined together

The the temperature of the inequality is represented by T

The temperature T of a refrigerator is at least 35°F and at most 41°F

This means that the temperature falls between 35°F and 41°F

Since the temperature, T, is at most 41°F

This can be mathematically interpreted as

T ≤ 41

The temperature, T, is at least 35°F

35 ≤ T

Combining the two inequality statements 35 ≤ T and T ≤ 41, the compound statement formed is:

35 ≤ T ≤ 41

The compound inequality for the temperature T of a refrigerator that is at least 35°F and at most 41°F is 35 ≤ T ≤ 41
