What is a system based on the use of machines rather than on animals or human power
katen-ka-za [31]

The system defined is a capital-intensive production system.

Producing requires the combination of the so-called factors of production: land, labor and capital. When production relies, in a higher proportion, on capital accumulation and the usage of machines in large production plants, rather than on human force, it is a capital-intensive production system.

If, on the other hand, production relied, in a higher proportion, on an extense labor force it would be a labor-intensive production system.

How did the notherners react to the passage of the fugitive slave act
garik1379 [7]
The northerners greatly disagreed with the act. The Fugitive Slave Act meant that if a slave ever escaped, he/she could be caught and returned to his/her owner. The northerners were primarily abolitionists, so they strongly disagreed with the Fugitive Slave Act.
