Which statement best describes the mechanism by which enzymes catalyze a reaction? A. Enzymes absorb the change in enthalpy (ΔH)

, permitting a reaction to proceed. B. Enzymes lower the concentration of the substrates, thereby driving the equilibrium to favor product formation. C. Enzymes are completely used up in the course of the reaction and therefore favor product formation. D. Enzymes lower the energy barrier necessary to achieve the transition state of a reaction. E. Enzymes lower the concentration of the products, thereby driving the reaction to favor product formation.

Answer:

Option E, Enzymes lower the energy barrier necessary to achieve the transition state of a reaction.

Explanation:

Enzymes just act like bio catalyst to favor the formation of final product at a given physical and chemical condition. Thus these enzymes reduces the energy required for reaching the transition stage through a process called catalysis. Enzymes do not modify or change the final products however they enhance the rate of biochemical reaction.

Thus, option E is correct

Define the following
asambeis [7]

Explanation:

A. Shine-Dalgarno Sequence:

 • This is a binding site found in the messenger RNA (mRNA) in prokaryotic organisms. It is found upstream of the start codon AUG and aids in the initiation of protein synthesis

B. SRP:

 • Signal Recognition Protein (SRP). This acts by binding to the bacterial ribosome, which as a result restricts protein synthesis.

C. NLS:

 • Nuclear Localisation Signal is a short amino acid sequence, which is responsible for transporting proteins from the cell cytoplasm into the nucleus. The NLS is also responsible for the development of the nuclear envelope of the cell.

D. Ubiquitin:

 • Found predominately in Eukaryota, the ubiquitin is a protein that aids in the control of other proteins within the organism.

E. Specificity Factor:

 • Also known as the sigma factor, is responsible for the initiation of bacterial transcription. It is recycled during the transcription process and is only required at the initiation of transcription.

F. CRP:

 • cAMP Receptor Protein (CRP) is involved in catabolite (glucose) repression and serves as an inducer in the process.

What form is energy stored in at the end of photosynthesis?
Elis [28]
D. Chemical energy
The plant converts solar energy into food for the plants. doing this would be a chemical reaction. At the end of photosynthesis there would be chemical energy. :)

PLZ HELP!!!! I'LL GIVE BRAILLIEST!!!

How does a tobacco mosaic virus reproduce???
Dominik [7]

Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) is a simple rod-shaped helical virus that contains single stranded RNA situated at its middle and is surrounded by a protein coat called capsid. After tobacco mosaic virus enters its infected host cells through mechanical inoculation, it removes its capsid to release its single stranded viral nucleic acid which is then transported into the nucleolus. The single stranded viral RNA actuates the production of specific enzymes (RNA polymerases) and it also produces another RNA strand (replicative RNA). The new viral-RNAs are transported from the nucleus into the cytoplasm and functions as messenger-RNAs (mRNAs). Each mRNA, ribosomes, and t-RNA, of the infected host cell all controls the production of protein subunits (capsomeres). After the production of the preferred capsomeres, the new viral-RNAs arrange the capsomeres around it which lead to the production of a complete virus particle (virion). The viruses then migrate from one cell to another. Hence, creating organized infection.
