Answer: Yes

Even if there is an abundance of fish in the oceans, and that even if the general rule is that big things eat smaller things, it is not true with the orca population (whales). Whales depend on chinook salmon for survival, and truly, the hypothesis that the lack of chinook salmon negatively affecting the orca population is true.

However, for a hypothesis to become lifted to the ranks of a theory once it passes a series of tests. Other scientists may claim its correctness, other may oppose to it. So there is a need to differentiate between the hypothesis on checking and competing hypotheses.

Describe one similarity and one diffence between DNA and RNA
AveGali [126]

Nucleic acids are the biolmolecules which are responsible for carrying information from one generation of organisms to the other. There are two types of nucleic acid namely the deoxyribo nucleic acid (DNA) and the ribo nucleic acid (RNA).

The similarity between the DNA and RNA is that both act as the genetic material carrying genetic information in them. Both are made up of polynucleotide chain with the repeating units called the nucleotides containing a nitrogenous base, a pentose sugar and phosphate. The difference lies in the type of the sugar and nitrogenous bases present. In RNA, the sugar is a ribose. In DNA, the sugar is a deoxy ribose derived from a ribose sugar by the loss of an oxygen atom. The nitrogenous bases of DNA are the adenine, guanine, thymine and cytosine. Whereas, the nitrogenous bases of RNA are the adenine, guanine, cytosine and uracil. Also, DNA is a double stranded molecule with two polynucleotide chains, whereas RNA is single stranded.

Two polypeptides, X and Y, have similar tertiary structures. X normally exists as a monomer while Y exists as a tetramer, Y4. Wh
Allisa [31]

Answer:

Due to number of amino acids.

Explanation:

The main differences might be expected in the amino acid composition of X versus Y because the X polypeptide is made up of one smaller unit of amino acid while on the other hand, Y polypeptide is made up of four smaller units of amino acids. The name of X is monomer which means composed of one amino acids while Y exists as a tetramer which means it has four amino acids. So we can conclude that the main difference between X and Y is the presence of number of amino acids.
