\dfrac{2x+3}{15}=\dfrac{9}{10}\qquad\text{cross multiply}\\\\10(2x+3)=(9)(15)\qquad\text{use distributive property}\\\\(10)(2x)+(10)(3)=135\\\\20x+30=135\qquad\text{subtract 30 from both sides}\\\\20x=105\qquad\text{divide both sides by 20}\\\\x=\dfrac{105}{20}\\\\x=5\dfrac{5}{20}\\\\x=5\dfrac{1}{4}\to x=5.25\\\\Answer:\ \boxed{x=5\dfrac{1}{4}=5.25}

How do you use equivalent fractions to compare the fractions in each pair
Alenkasestr [34]
Firstly you need to to reduce to a common denominator by multiplYing the whole fraction. This way you have to multiply 4/5 by 2 (both numerator and denominator). so 4/5 = 8/10. And now you have 8/10 and 9/10. You compare only numerators. This way you have 8/10 <9/10. Same goes for 2/3 and 5/8. Only here you need to multiply both fractions. The common denominator here is 24. So you have to multiply 2/3 by 8 and 5/8 by 3. You now have to compare 16/24 and 15/24. 16/24>15/24.

Explain how to evaluate simplify and convert to radical form (x^3/8)^3/4
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4}  = \sqrt[32]{x^9}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4}

Required

Convert to radical form

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4}

Evaluate the exponents

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4} = x^\frac{3*3}{8*4}

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4} = x^\frac{9}{32}

Split the exponent

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4} = (x^9)^\frac{1}{32}

Apply the following law of indices

(x^a)^\frac{1}{b} = \sqrt[b]{x^a}

So, we have:

(x^\frac{3}{8})^\frac{3}{4}  = \sqrt[32]{x^9}
