Bcoz integer numbers are positive and negative whole numbers. Rational numbers ALSO include fractions and decimals...... eg: 10 is an integer which is also a rational number. but keep in mind all rational numbers are not integers. eg 10.1 is a rational number but since integers are only whole positive or negative numbers, it is not an integer.
