Swift uses verbal irony to make his point in the lines 135–145 “Some persons . . . evils to come?” What makes this ironic is because of the misinterpretation <span>of what "persons of a desponding Spirit" mean when they express "concern" about the large numbers of poor people. Hope this answers your question.</span>

Verbal Irony is also known as <em>"Parody",</em> a communication device used to make fun something or simply to produce a comic effect by imitation and exaggeration, usually as a critique.

The Irish writer, <em>Jonathan Swift</em>, was known for being a <em>satirist</em> and a master of <em>"dry humor"</em> (<em>blunt ironic remarks</em>) which he displayed in his works; and especially the <em>verbal irony</em> he uses in <em>"A Modest Proposal"</em>, a satirical essay written by him (<em>anonymously</em>) in 1729.

Like when he declare he's speaking <em>"from the sincerity in his heart"</em> to announce the <em>"Modest Proposal to prevent the Children of poor people from being a burden to their parents or country, and making them beneficial to the public"</em>; advising Irish parents to sell their children as food for the rich, in order to solve their financial issues caused by the economical conditions of the nation at that time.

Describe what your headmaster has done to improve sport in your school
Tju [1.3M]

The assignment wants a personal answer about your view of the headmaster's work and sport at your school. In that case, I can't write your answer, but I'll help you do that.

<h3>Response structure</h3>
  1. Show the changes that have taken place in the school in relation to sport.
  2. Emphasize whether these changes were beneficial or harmful.
  3. Show how the school headmaster was one of those responsible for the change.
  4. Point out how the director worked to bring about these changes.

This answer will depend on your analysis of your school and how the sport is established in it. You can talk to students and staff to strengthen this analysis.

Are people more likely to be happy if they focus on goals other than their own happiness ? Thoughts?
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

I think so because being able to say you did/accomplished something, can bring you a sense of purpose and happiness. If you focus on merely trying to be happy,  you will get carried away and frustrated, but if you set goals, and accomplish them, you wil  feel like a winner.
