Answer:

Please check the attached figure a for a complete visual.

Step-by-step explanation:

Considering the triangle ΔABC with vertices

  • A(-2, 0)
  • B(-2, 4)
  • C(0, 0)

When a figure is multiplied by a scale factor greater than 1, the figure is enlarged.

As the center of enlargement is (4, 4).

So, Draw a straight line from vertex A to the point (4, 4). Count how many units it needed in two dimensions to reach the center of enlargement (4, 4).

In case of vertex A, it was 6 units right and 4 units up. So, multiply them with 1.5 and locate the resulting position as A' which is the image of A after the scale factor of 1.5 using the center of enlargement as (4, 4).

So, when we multiply '6 units right' with 1.5, it becomes 9 units. So, move 9 units right from the center of enlargement (4, 4).

Similarly, when we multiply '4 units up' with 1.5, it becomes 6 units. So, move 6 units up from the center of enlargement (4, 4).

So, new the position of A' is shown in figure a.

Similarly, the vertex B and C are enlarged and the positions of B' and C' are shown in figure a.

The complete enlargement of triangle ΔABC is done as ΔA'B'C'. Please check the attached figure a for a complete visual.

What is the area of a circle with a diameter of 15. 8cm? To the nearest hundredth
klio [65]

Answer:

see below

Step-by-step explanation:

First we need to find the radius

r =d/2 = 15.8/2 = 7.9 cm

The area of a circle is given by

A = pi r^2

   = pi ( 7.9) ^2

   =62.41 pi

Using 3.14 for pi

195.9674

To the nearest hundredth

195.97

Using the pi button

196.0667975

To the nearest hundredth

196.07

Please help me with 9 I really need it

Answer:

605 boys

Step-by-step explanation:

If the ratio of boys to girls is 5:7

and there are 847 girls

we can plug this value into the ratio by doing something like:

5:7

= 5/7

= x/847

Because the ratio has to be the same, we can substitute x for the number of boys and solve by the cross method or whatever you guys call it.

5            x

---   x    ------

7          847

The x in the middle is just to show the direction you are multiplying.

the 5 is multiplied by the 847 and the 7 is multiplied by x.

847 * 5 = 4,235

4,235  divided by 7 is 605

605 is your answer.

The cross method can be used in most situations.

* is used to represent multiplication btw
