Let x represent length of smallest piece.

We have been given that the longest piece is 13 inches longer than three times the smallest piece. So length of longest piece would be 3x+13.

The middle piece is 5 inches less than the longest piece. So length of middle piece would be 3x+13-5=3x+8.

We have been given that the length of pipe is 7 foot.

1 feet = 12 inches.

7 feet = 7*12 inches = 84 inches.

Now we will equate the sum of lengths of 3 pipes with 84 as:

x+3x+13+3x+8=84

Let us solve for x.

7x+21=84

7x+21-21=84-21

7x=63

\frac{7x}{7}=\frac{63}{7}

x=9

Length of middle piece would be 3x+8\Rightarrow 3(9)+8=27+8=35.

Therefore, the middle piece is 35 inches long.

PLEASE HELP ME ASAP !!!!!
Schach [20]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1a) the y intercept, or 20

b) from 0 weeks to 1 week the difference is 10

c) its y=mx+b m is the slope(difference) and b is the y-int so y = 10x+20

2a) the y int, is the same as the x(number of games played) being zero, so here it is 25

2b) after 3 games it was a loss of 1.50 !!! IMPORTANT !! after THREE weeks, so its 1.5/3=0.5 amount on card per week

2c) (ref 1c) but with that same formula/equation - we get y=0.5x+25

which choice could be the equation of a line perpendicular to the line represented by this equation? y=2/5x=2 answers choice A(
ratelena [41]
The slope in y = mx + b form will be in the m position (the number before the x)
y = 2/5x ? 2..here the slope is 2/5.....a perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. All that means is " flip " the slope and change the sign.
2/5.....flip it....5/2...change the sign...-5/2...so we need a slope of -5/2.

answer C......y = -5/2x + (-3)

The sum of the first 130 positive even integers
Triss [41]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Positive integers are of the form 2n

The first term is 2 and the 130th term is 2(130)=260

The sum of this arithmetic sequence is the average of first and last terms times the number of terms

(2+260)(130/2)

Write the equation 5x - 3y = 15 in slope-intercept form. 5x____ - 3y = ____ + 15
Deffense [45]
5x - 3y = 15

5x - 5x -3y = - 5x + 15

-3y = -5x + 15

3y = 5x - 15

divide all of them by 3...

y = 5/3 - 5
