A train 375 m long is running at a speed of 45 km/hr.how long will it take to pass a single post

Mathematics

we know that

The time it takes for the train to pass a single post is equal to the time it takes for the train to pass its length.

the length of the train is-----> 375 m

<u>convert to Km</u>

1 Km =1,000 m

375 m=375/1,000=0.375 Km

the speed of the train is 45 km/hour

so

by proportion

\frac{1}{45}\frac{hour}{Km} =\frac{x}{0.375}\frac{hour}{Km}\\ \\45*x=0.375\\ \\ x=0.375/45\\ \\x=0.0083\ hours

<u>convert to minutes</u>

1 hour=60 minutes

0.0083 hours=0.0083*60=0.5 minutes

<u>convert to seconds</u>

1 minute=60 sec

0.5 minutes=0.5*60=30 sec

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

30 seconds

QUESTION 2
aev [14]

The margin of error for a 95% confidence interval is 0.93.

mean (μ) = 23.4, standard deviation (σ) = 7.6, sample (n) = 254, confidence = 95% = 0.95

α = 1 - C = 1 - 0.95 = 0.05

α/2 = 0.05/2 = 0.025

The z score of α/2 is equal to the z score of 0.475 (0.5 - 0.025) which is equal to 1.96.

The margin of error (E) is given by:

E=z_\frac{\alpha}{2} *\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } \\\\E=1.96*\frac{7.6}{\sqrt{254} } \\\\E=0.93

The margin of error for a 95% confidence interval is 0.93.

Here is a table of values y=f(x).
Mariulka [41]

A. <u>False.</u> The range of f(x) is the set of values it can produce. In the table, f(x) produces values from 0 to 3. However, the range of all real numbers is all rational numbers, basically from -\infty to \infty, not just a few numbers in-between. So, the range of f(x) is not all real numbers.

B.  <u>True.</u> Looking at the table, when x=-3, f(x)=2. This is another way of saying that f(-3)=2, which is what B is saying.

C. <u>True.</u> The domain of f(x) is the set of values of x that produce some output in f(x). Looking at the table, all of the x values listed on it are in the set \{-5, -3, 0, 2, 6, 7, 9, 10, 13\}, which is what C is saying.

D. <u>False.</u> Looking at the table, when x=0, f(x)=3. This is another way of saying that f(0)=3, which is <em>not </em>what B is saying.
