Reached, talked....those are not correct.  They would look like this:  tapped, flagging, etc.  Notice the -pp and -gg.  If you didn't have the ending, it would just be spelled tap or flag.  By adding the ending of -ed or -ing, you have to double the consonant. I gave you some instruction on the paper posted (the image).
