A 20.6 g marble sliding to the right at 59.6 cm/s overtakes and collides elastically with a 10.3 g marble moving in the same dir

ection at 14.9 cm/s. After the collision, the 10.3 g marble moves to the right at 74.5 cm/s. Find the velocity of the 20.6 g marble after the collision.

Answer:29.8 cm/s

Explanation:

Given

mass of marble A is m_a=20.6\ gm

Initial velocity of marble A is u_a=59.6\ cm/s

mass of marble B is m_b=10.3\ gm

Initial velocity of marble B u_b=14.9\ cm/s

After collision marble B moves with velocity of v_b=74.5\ cm/s

Conserving momentum

m_au_a+m_bu_b=m_av_a+m_bv_b

20.6\times 59.6+10.3\times 14.9=20.6\times v_a+10.3\times 74.5

v_a=\frac{20.6\times 59.6-10.3(74.5-14.9)}{20.6}

v_a=29.8\ cm/s

How can you tell there is only one atom of oxygen in H2O?
kow [346]

Answer:

For H2O, there is one atom of oxygen and two atoms of hydrogen. A molecule can be made of only one type of atom. In its stable molecular form, oxygen exists as two atoms and is written O2. to distinguish it from an atom of oxygen O, or ozone, a molecule of three oxygen atoms, O3.

Why does a collision with an airbag cause less damage than a collision with a steering wheel
ohaa [14]

When a person collides with an inflated air bag, the impact forces the molecules of gas in the bag closer together. The compression of the gas absorbs the energy of the impact.

A. Write two or three sentences to describe the conductivity of an insulator. Explain its conductivity in terms of the electrons
aliya0001 [1]

PART A)

Conductivity of insulator is very small as there is no free electrons to conduct the current trough that medium

So here number of conduction electrons are very less in insulators

PART B)

Resistance is the property of a conducting medium which will oppose the flow of current trough it

Resistance of wire directly depends on its length so resistance of long wire will be more than the resistance of short wire

Resistance inversely depends on the area so if a wire has more crossectional area then its resistance must be small

PART C)

power of light bulb is defined as rate of electrical energy

it is given by formula

P = i V

here we know that

i = 1.46 A

V = 120 volts

so power is given as

P = 1.46 \times 120

P = 175.2 Watt

One side of the moon always faces Earth because the time it takes the moon to spin on its axis is blank the time it takes the mo
Kamila [148]
The word to fill in the blank is "equal". Because the time taken to rotate (spin on its axis) is equal to the time of revolution (going around the earth), this means that both have the same rate of angular rotation. So for every bit that the moon goes around its orbit around earth, the moon itself rotates accordingly to present the exact same side to earth.

What is the volume of an irregularly shaped object that has a mass 3.0 grams and a density of 6.0 g/mL
pogonyaev

Answer: The volume of an irregularly shaped object is 0.50 ml

Explanation:

To calculate the volume, we use the equation:

\text{Density of substance}=\frac{\text{Mass of substance}}{\text{Volume of substance}}

Density of object = 6.0g/ml

mass of object = 3.0 g

Volume of object = ?

Putting in the values we get:

6.0g/ml=\frac{3.0g}{\text{Volume of substance}}

{\text{Volume of substance}}=0.50ml

Thus the volume of an irregularly shaped object is 0.50 ml
