An expert witness should NOT be paid in court. If you were a victim in a crime, you would want anyone who saw anything to speak up about what they witnessed, so they can identify the suspect. You shouldn't be rewarded for doing the right thing.

If it was a normal witness they shouldn't be paid because they are only telling what they saw. But if it is a expert witness who is going out of their way to say information. They should be paid, because they are not forced by law to talk.
