2. Seiji and Gavin both worked hard over the summer. Together they earned a total of $425. Gavin earned $25 more than Seiji. (a)
Alja [10]
Let Gavin be G
Let Seiji be S

G + S = 425
G = 25 + S

I can't really graph, but plug in some numbers to G and S that works in BOTH equations. Then graph it.

G + S = 425
G = 25 + S

(25 + S) + S = 425
2S + 25 = 425
2S + 25 (-25) = 425 (-25)
2S = 400
2S/2 = 400/2
S = 200

Seiji made 200 dollars

Now choose one of the equations to use (the easier the better) in this case i will choose this one:

G = 25 + S

pug in 200 into S (because that is how much Seiji made)

G = 25 + (200)
G = 225

Seiji made 200, Gavin made 225

200 + 225 = 425, which is the total amount the made

hope this helps

U = C(1 + rt) solve for t
natita [175]

Answer:

t =  \frac{U -C }{Cr}

Step-by-step Explanation

U = C(1+rt) \\  \\  \frac{U}{C}  = (1 + rt) \\   \\  \frac{U}{C}   - 1  =  rt\\  \\ \frac{U -C }{C}   =  rt\\  \\ \huge \red{ \boxed{ t =  \frac{U -C }{Cr} }}

Evaluate.<br><br> (1/4)^-2 - (5^0x2) x 1^-1
blondinia [14]

Answer:

  14

Step-by-step explanation:

Arithmetic expressions are best evaluated using a reliable calculator. The Google calculator always follows the Order of Operations, so can give you a good answer to such questions.

  (1/4)^-2 - (5^0)(2)(1^-1)

  = 16 - (1)(2)(1) . . . . evaluate the exponents first

  = 16 -2 . . . . . . . . . evaluate the product next

  = 14 . . . . . . . . . . . finally, evaluate the sum

___

The rule of exponents is ...

  a^-b = 1/(a^b)

What is the distance in the standard (x, y) coordinate<br> plane between the points (2,3) and (5,5)?
Naddik [55]
<h3>The distance between the points (2,3) and (5,5) is 3.6 units</h3>

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

<em><u>Distance between two points is given by:</u></em>

d=\sqrt{\left(x_{2}-x_{1}\right)^{2}+\left(y_{2}-y_{1}\right)^{2}}

We have to find the distance in the standard (x, y) coordinate  plane between the points (2,3) and (5,5)

From given,

(x_1, y_1) = (2, 3)\\\\(x_2, y_2) = (5, 5)

Substituting the values we get,

d = \sqrt{(5-2)^2 + (5-3)^2}\\\\Simplify\\\\d = \sqrt{3^2 + 2^2}\\\\d = \sqrt{9+4}\\\\d = \sqrt{13}\\\\In\ decimal\ form\\\\d = 3.605 \approx 3.6

Thus distance between the points (2,3) and (5,5) is 3.6 units
