Explanation:

A body is said to be at rest if doesn't change it's position with respect to its surroundings while a body is said to be in motion if it continuously changes it's position with respect to its surroundings.

Motion : If an object change its position with respect to time and surroundings, it is said to be in motion .

For example: If we stand on a road and observe a moving car , we will findo that it's position is continuously changing with respect to us and different time intervals . So the car is in motion

Rest: We can say that a body is at rest , if it does not change its position with respect to time and it's surroundings .

For example: a standing tree remain fixed in its place if you see it at different times intervals . So , it is said to be in the state of rest.

Rest and motion are relative terms : when we say that a body is at rest , first we consider that the earth is at rest . But, actually the earth itself is constantly rotating on it's own axis . So ,everything on the earth is also in motion.

A 30 kg male emperor penguin under a clear sky in the Antarctic winter loses very little heat to the environment by convection;
yarga [219]

Answer:

Rate of energy loss by radiation is 28.31 Watt

Explanation:

Given that;

m = 30 kg

power p = 12 W

emissivity e = 0.97

Surface Area A = 0.56 m²

outside of the penguin's body  T = −22°C

surroundings Temperature Ts = -38°C

the rate of energy loss by radiation = ?

Now, using Stefan-Boltzmann law;

P = σeA [ T⁴ - Ts⁴ ]

Stefan's constant σ = 5.67 × 10⁻⁸

so we substitute

P = 5.67 × 10⁻⁸ × 0.97 ×  0.56  [ (-22 + 273 k)⁴ - (-38 + 273 k )⁴]

= 3.079944 × 10⁻⁸ [ 919325376]

=  28.31 Watt

the rate of energy loss by radiation is 28.31 Watt

The gravitational force law, deduced by Newton in the 1660's, is remarkably similar to Coulomb's law. Recall that the universal
viktelen [127]

Answer:

a.F=7.83\times 10^{-51} N

b.Attractive

Explanation:

We are given that

F=\frac{GM_1M_2}{R^2}

G=6.67\times 10^{-11} Nm^2/kg^2

Mass of an electron,M_1=9.11\times 10^{-31} kg

Mass of proton,M_2=1836\times 9.11\times 10^{-31} kg

Distance between electron and proton,R=3.602nm=3.602\times 10^{-9} m

1nm=10^{-9} m

a.Substitute the values then  we get

F=\frac{6.67\times 10^{-11}\times 9.11\times 10^{-31}\times 1836\times 9.11\times 10^{-31}}{(3.602\times 10^{-9})^2}

F=7.83\times 10^{-51} N

b.We know that like charges repel to each other and unlike charges attract to each other.

Proton and electron are unlike charges therefore, the force between proton and electron is attractive.

An object is dropped from the top of a tall building. At 2 seconds, it is 64 feet from the top of the building. At 4 seconds, it
jeka94

Answer:

96.21 ft/s

Explanation:

To solve this, you only need to use one expression which is:

Vf² = Vo² + 2gh

g = 9.8 m/s²

However, this exercise is talking in feet, so convert the gravity to feet first:

g = 9.8 * 3.28 = 32.15 ft/s²

Vo is zero, because it's a free fall and in free fall the innitial speed is always zero. With this, let's calculate the speed at 2 seconds, with a height of 64 ft, and then with the 256 ft:

V1 = √2*32.15*64

V1 = 64.15 ft/s

V2 = √2*32.15*256

V2 = 128.3 ft/s

So the average rate is:

V = 128.3 + 64.15 / 2

V = 96.22 ft/s

10. A spring whose composition is not completely known might be either bronze (sp gr 8.8) or brass (sp gr 8.4). It has a mass of
frez [133]

The element used is of bronze.

Now before we find out how we got the answer as bronze, firstly let us understand about the device we are talking about. That is, spring.

What exactly is a spring?

A spring is defined as a device that changes its shape in response to an external force, returning to its original shape when the force is removed. If we apply force or pressure in this device, it will change its shape but the moment we stop applying force, it will come back to its original state.

This means that this device is made of something flexible. So, the material it is made up of should also be flexible in nature.

How to find out flexibility of spring?

Flexibility of spring can be found as q = f Q, where f is the spring flexibility.

Here, in this question, we are given the mass of element in air and water. This shows a slight comparison between the mass of that particular element in air and water and thus, we get to know it is trying to draw our attention towards density.

Here, we have mass in air and water, thus, we can determine the density.

From these numbers, we can know that the density given is of bronze.

Hence, the element used is Bronze.
