First step when finding the mean is to add all the values together
7 + -9 + 6 + -10 + -13 + -5
To make this easier, first add all the positive numbers 7 + 6 = 13
Then add (basically take away) the minus values one by one
13 - 9 = 4
4 - 10 = -6
-6 - 13 = -19
-19 - 5 = -24
Next step is to divide this total by the number of values there were
In this case, there were 6 values
-24 / 6 = -4
D. -4

Mean of the above set of numbers is D. -4

Mean is the average of the sum of the numbers.

add all the numbers : 7 + (-9) + 6 + (-10) + (-13) + (-5) = -24
divide the sum by the count of numbers added: -24/6 = -4

A turtle population grows in a manner that closely resembles a geometric sequence. Given the table of values, determine the turt
AleksandrR [38]

The turtle population will be 486 after 5 years.

Step-by-step explanation:

The general form of a geometric progression or geometric sequence is a, ar, ar², ar³ and so on.

where,

 • a = first term
 • r = common ratio

The formula to find the nth term in GP is :

nth term = ar^{n-1}

The given sequence 6,18,54.

In this sequence,

 • The first term, a = 6
 • The common ratio, r = 18/6 = 3

5th term = 6\times3^{5-1}

⇒ 6\times3^{4}

⇒ 6\times81

⇒ 486

Therefore, after 5 years the population will be 486.

jacob is going shopping he finds a great deal on a laptop foe 40% off the original price if the sale price is $525 what is the o
aleksley [76]

Answer:

The original price of the laptop was US$ 875

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Let's review all the information given for solving this question:

Sale price of the laptop = US$ 525

Discount from the original price = 40%

2. Let's find the original price of the laptop

Original price of the laptop = x

Sale price of the laptop = US$ 525

Sale price of the laptop = x - 40%x

525 = x - 0.4x

525 = x - 4x/10 (0.4 = 4/10)

5,250 = 10x -4x (Multiplying by 10 at both sides)

5,250 = 6x

5,250/6 = 6x/6 (Dividing by 6 at both sides)

875 = 6

The original price of the laptop was US$ 875
