5.88 ft/s

Explanation:

a) The block will slide down due to it's weight.

initial velocity u= 0

final velocity, v

acceleration, a = g sin 30° = 32 ft/s²× sin 30° = 16 ft/s²

Sliding displacement, s = 3ft

Use third equation of motion:

v^2-u^2 = 2as

substitute the values and solve for v

v^2-0 = 2\times 16 \times 3 =96 ft^2/s^2\\v = 9.8 ft/s

b) Use conservation of momentum:

Initial momentum of the system  = 0

final momentum = (15) ( 9.8)+ (25)(v')

v' = 5.88 ft/s

v² = u² + 2as where v is the final velocity, u is the initial velocity and a is the gravitational acceleration, and s is the displacement,
Thus, v² = u² -2gs, but v=0
hence, u² = 2gs
                = 2×9.81×0.43
                = 8.4366
            u = √8.4366
               =2.905 m/s
Hence the initial velocity is 2.905 m/s
 Then using the equation v= u +gt .
Therefore, v = u -gt. (-g because the player is jumping against the gravity)
but, v = 0
Thus, u= gt
Hence, t = u/g
              = 2.905/9.81
              = 0.296 seconds

Each magnet must have two poles namely:

-North pole

-South pole

We assume that the magnetic lines of forces enters from south pole and leaves from the north pole.

When brought together, like poles repel each other while opposite poles attract each other.

In the picture, the lower two magnets have opposite poles facing each other, hence the force of repulsion is minimum there and the force of attraction is maximum.
