Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given are three functions, f, g and h.  We are to check the validity of the statements from 1 to 5

1) Avg rate of change of functions in the interval [2,3]

f(x) = f(3)-f(2) =29-11=18

g(x) = g(3)-g(2) =64-44=20

h(x) = h(3)-h(2) = 15

False

2) False, From the graph given we find that it is false

3) True since f(4) is higher than other function value at 4.

4) h(8) = 128+40+2 =170.   f(8) = 6563

Hence false.

5) f'(x) =3^x lnx:  g'(x) = 20:  h'(x) = 4x+5

False because when x=1, rate of change of f = 0<g'(x)

Last statement  a quantity increasing exponentially eventually exceeds a quantity growing quadratically or linearly

is true

I need some help with this question?¿
IgorLugansk [536]
           Easy. Okay. We are trying to find out how much of the pizza they both ate together. To do this we need a common denominator. A common denominator of 3/4 and 1/8 are 8. We don't need to convert 1/8 because it already has 8 as the denominator. So we convert 3/4 into a fraction that has a fraction with a denominator of 8. We multiply both the numerator and denominator by 2 which means 3/4 is equal to 6/8. Now all we have to do is 6/8 + 1/8 which we get 7/8. So the answer is 7/8. I hope this helps.

A local company manufactures netbook computers. Their profit function is given by this equation: y equal minus x to the power of
r-ruslan [8.4K]
The equation described above can also be written as,
                    y = -x² + 100x + 4000
To get the number of notebooks that will give them the maximum profit, we derive the equation and equate to zero.
                  dy/dx = -2x + 100 = 0
The value of x from the equation is 50. Then, we substitute 50 to the original equation to get the profit.
                   y = -(50^2) + 100(50) + 4000 = 6500
Thus, the maximum profit that the company makes is $6,500/day.

How do you solve the three forms: Slope Y-intercept form Standard Form Point slope form
Nostrana [21]

Answer:An equation in the slope-intercept form is written as

y=mx+b

Where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept. You can use this equation to write an equation if you know the slope and the y-intercept.

Example

Find the equation of the line

Choose two points that are on the line

Calculate the slope between the two points

m=y2−y1x2−x1=(−1)−33−(−3)=−46=−23

We can find the b-value, the y-intercept, by looking at the graph

picture28

b = 1

We've got a value for m and a value for b. This gives us the linear function

y=−23x+1

In many cases the value of b is not as easily read. In those cases, or if you're uncertain whether the line actually crosses the y-axis in this particular point you can calculate b by solving the equation for b and then substituting x and y with one of your two points.

We can use the example above to illustrate this. We've got the two points (-3, 3) and (3, -1). From these two points we calculated the slope

m=−23

This gives us the equation

y=−23x+b

From this we can solve the equation for b

b=y+23x

And if we put in the values from our first point (-3, 3) we get

b=3+23⋅(−3)=3+(−2)=1

If we put in this value for b in the equation we get

y=−23x+1

which is the same equation as we got when we read the y-intercept from the graph.

To summarize how to write a linear equation using the slope-interception form you

Identify the slope, m. This can be done by calculating the slope between two known points of the line using the slope formula.

Find the y-intercept. This can be done by substituting the slope and the coordinates of a point (x, y) on the line in the slope-intercept formula and then solve for b.

Once you've got both m and b you can just put them in the equation at their respective position.
