Well the only right triangle with two similar sides is a special triangle called a 45 45 90. After the degrees of its shape
                                                      _
two sides are x and the other is x/2 _
so in this case the other angle would be 20/2 [20 root (2), its hard to draw roots on this site so I thought I would clarify that was what I was drawing]

Hope this helps, good luck.

An Isoceles Right Triangle is a triangle that has two congruent sides and one right angle, so the congruent sides must be the legs.

Because the two legs are congruent we will call them both a and the hypotenuse c. If we put them into the Pythagorean theorem it would look like this.

a^2+a^2=c^2

2a^2=c^2
\sqrt2a^2= \sqrt{c^2}a \sqrt2=c
From this we can conclude that the hypotenuse leg is the length of a leg multiplied by \sqrt2
So.. The answer is 20 \sqrt2

(-6, -4); y = 1/3x +1
Sedbober [7]

Answer:

y=3x+14

Step-by-step explanation:

Well you already know that the slope is 3

parallel lines always have the same slope.

so then you plug in the point (-6,-4) into y=3x+b

-6 is x and -4 is y

-4=3(-6)+b

-4=-18+b

14=b

so your equation is y=3x+14

Hope this helps :D

What term should be added to y2-14y to make it a perfect square
trinomial?
Ksju [112]

Answer:

49

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the monomial y²-14y, in order to make the binomial a perfect square, we need to add a constant to the function using completing the square method.

To get the constant, we will multiply the coefficient of y by 1/2 and then square the resulting value.

- The coefficient of y is -14.

multiplying the coefficient of y by 1/2 will give -14/2 = -7

- squaring -7 will result in (-7)²

= 49

The constant that will be added to the binomial to make it a perfect square trinomial is 49
