Warming ocean temperatures cause a bleaching event on a coral reef, which becomes degraded. The corals begin to die. In 3–5 sent

Answer:

Without the plants and algae trap and stabilize sediment, it erodes. As coral reefs degrade, habitat for marine life is lost and nearby coastlines become more susceptible to storms, waves and erosion. Corals used to form barriers to protect the shoreline from waves and storms. Without the coral reef structure buffer zones, the shorelines are more susceptible to storms, and floods, property damage, and wind erosion. The seafloor itself erodes too. This means that the seas along those coasts have become unexpectedly deep.

In humans, the eye color and hair color genes are located on different chromosomes. Brown eyes (B) are dominant to blue (b), and
Andrej [43]

Answer:

Man's genotype: Bbdd

Woman's genotype: bbDd

First child's genotype: Bbdd

Second child's genotype: bbDd

Explanation:

This is a dihybrid cross involving two genes; one coding for eye color and the other for hair color in humans. The allele for brown eye (B) is dominant over the allele for blue eyes (b) in the first gene while the allele for dark hair (D) is dominant over the allele for red hair (d) in the second gene.

According to the question, A man with brown eyes and red hair will possibly possess genotypes: BBdd or Bbdd while a woman with blue eyes and dark hair will possibly have genotype: bbDD or bbDd. Considering the fact that they produced children with recessive traits for both gene (blue eyes and red hair), it means that they are heterozygous for their dominant trait. This means that the ideal genotype for the man is Bbdd since he will produce gametes containing B and b alleles for the first gene while the ideal genotype for the woman is bbDd since it will produce gametes with D and d allele for the second gene.

Hence, a child with brown eyes and red hair will possess genotype: Bbdd since he/she cannot receive two dominant alleles for the first gene from both parents. A child with blue eyes and dark hair will have genotype: bbDd since he/she cannot receive two dominant alleles of the second gene from both parents.

1. How much of downtown boston was original land? Where did the rest come from?
Hatshy [7]

History of Boston is described below.

Explanation:

  • When workers cut down Copp's hill the only thing they left untouched was the old three-acre burying ground. The city built a retaining wall around the graveyard to prevent it from eroding. In 1814, the Boston and Roxbury Mill Corporation built the Boston & Roxbury Mill Dam across the back bay
  • Originally called Tremontaine for the three hills in the area, the Puritans later changed the settlement's name to Boston, after the town in Lincolnshire, England, from which many Puritans originated.
  • South Boston, which was front and center in the battle, is no longer that close-knit old school “tough-as-nail” Irish Catholic enclave. “Southie,” as it is still fondly referred to, houses the world today flaunting some of the best restaurants and expensive housing in the city
  • Boston was founded in 1630 by English Puritans fleeing religious persecution. On 29 March 1630 a fleet of 11 ships carrying 700 people sailed from England to Massachusetts. They were led by John Winthrop (1588-1649). At first the people settled at Charlestown, which had been founded the year before.
  • Much of Boston's coastline is man-made land. The original shoreline, from 1630, is visible in dark green on this map. Land made between 1630 and 1995 is light green.Boston is a safe city, but as with any major city, you should take the usual safety precautions. Stay in well-populated areas, travel with others, especially at night, and keep track of your belongings. The tourist areas in Boston are generally safe, but some areas deserve mention.
