Peter is tiling his bathroom shower. He will be tiling 3 walls on the shower and the fourth side will have a glass door. The sho

wer measures 4 feet by 6 feet and the tiles will go 7 feet high. The glass door measures 6 feet by 7 feet. The tiles are 4 inches by 4 inches, so there are 9 tiles per square foot. It is recommended that he should purchase 10% more than the number of tiles to fill the area in case any tiles break or need to be cut, or replaced later.

Answer:

20 tiles

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that,

number of walls needed to be painted = 3

volume of one shower wall = 4 x 6 x 7

                                         = 168 feet³

volume of 3 shower wall = 3 x 168

                                           = 504 feet³

1 foot = 12 inches

504 foot³ = 6048 inches³

volume 4x4 tiles will cover for 3 walls = 3(4 x 4 x 7)

                                                                  = 336 inches³

The number of tiles to fill the area = 6048 inches³/ 336 inches³

                                                        = 18 tiles

10% more than the number of tiles to fill the area in case any tiles break or need to be cut, or replaced later

18 + (18 x 10/100)

= 19.8

≈ 20 tiles

Inferential statistical tests are used for all of the following except: a. describing a sample with means and standard deviation
Anika [276]

Answer:

a. Describing a sample with mean and standard deviation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Statistics can be categorized into descriptive and inferential statistics.

descriptive statistics uses data for descriptions through numerical analysis. It can be further divided in four parts.

  • Measures of Central Tendency ( Mean, Median, and Mode)
  • Measures of Frequency (Count, Percent, Frequency)
  • Measures of Position (Percentile Ranks, Quartile Ranks.)
  • Measures of Dispersion ( Range, Standard Deviation)

Inferential statistics however is based on assumptions and conclusions and generalizations drawn from samples or checks.

options b to d are all examples of inferential statistics while option a is an example of descriptive statistics.

Anastasy [175]
Distance is the formula :

DAB = \sqrt{(xA - xB)^2  + (yA - yB)^2}

so

\sqrt{(-1 - 11)^2 + (-3 + 8)^2}

= 13

Answer is C)
