Answer:

Evelyn monthly allowance is $187.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the monthly allowance be 'x'.

Given:

Money taken with for shopping = \frac{x}{2}

Money spent of dress = $39.95

Also Given:

3/7 of the remainder on some accessories.

Money spent on accessories is equal to \frac{3}{7} times Difference of monthly allowance and Money spent of dress.

framing in equation form we get;

Money spent on accessories = \frac{3}{7}\times(\frac{x}{2}-39.95)

Also Given:

Money left after shopping = $30.60

Now we know that;

Money taken with for shopping is equal to sum of Money spent of dress and Money spent on accessories and Money left after shopping.

framing in equation form we get;

\frac{x}{2}=39.95+\frac{3}{7}(\frac{x}{2}-39.95)+30.60\\\\\frac{x}{2}=39.95+\frac{3x}{14}- 17.12 +30.60

Combining like terms we get;

\frac{x}{2}-\frac{3x}{14}=39.95-17.12+30.60\\\\\frac{x}{2}-\frac{3x}{14}= 53.43

Now we will make denominator common using L.C.M

\frac{x\times 7}{2\times7}-\frac{3x\times1}{14\times1}= 53.43\\\\\frac{7x}{14}-\frac{3x}{14}= 53.43\\\\\frac{7x-3x}{14}=53.43\\\\\frac{4x}{14}=53.43\\\\4x=53.43\times14\\\\x= \frac{53.43\times14}{4} = \$187

Hence Evelyn monthly allowance is $187.

By using the concept of uniform rectilinear motion, the distance surplus of the average race car is equal to 3 / 4 miles. (Right choice: A)

<h3>How many more distance does the average race car travels than the average consumer car?</h3>

In accordance with the statement, both the average consumer car and the average race car travel at constant speed (v), in miles per hour. The distance traveled by the vehicle (s), in miles, is equal to the product of the speed and time (t), in hours. The distance surplus (s'), in miles, done by the average race car is determined by the following expression:

s' = (v' - v) · t

Where:

  • v' - Speed of the average race car, in miles per hour.
  • v - Speed of the average consumer car, in miles per hour.
  • t - Time, in hours.

Please notice that a hour equal 3600 seconds. If we know that v' = 210 mi / h, v = 120 mi / h and t = 30 / 3600 h, then the distance surplus of the average race car is:

s' = (210 - 120) · (30 / 3600)

s' = 3 / 4 mi

The distance surplus of the average race car is equal to 3 / 4 miles.

wanting some extra help with factoring while knowing what method it would be like gcf or grouping etc
Ksju [112]

d) You have a <u>difference of squares</u>:

49y² - 9 = (7y)² - 3²

Recall the identity,

a² - b² = (a - b) (a + b)

So,

49y² - 9 = (7y - 3) (7y + 3)

e) Pull out the common factor 3 from each term:

3x² - 3x - 90 = 3 (x² - x - 30)

Now use the <u>sum-product method</u>. Notice that we can write 30 = 5 • 6, and 5 - 6 = 1, so

3x² - 3x - 90 = 3 (x + 5) (x - 6)

f) Same as in (e), use the <u>sum-product method</u>. Notice that 42 = 7 • 6, and -7 - 6 = -13, so

x² - 13x + 42 = (x - 7) (x - 6)

What are the solutions to the equation 0 = x2 - X-6? Select two options
Ganezh [65]

Step-by-step explanation:

x2 - x - 6 = 0

x2 - 3x + 2x - 6 = 0

x(x - 3) + 2(x - 3) = 0

x - 3 = 0. x + 2 = 0

x = 3 x = - 2

Option no 2 and 5 are the correct answer

A boogie board that has a regular price of $69 is on sale at a 35% discount. What is the sale price with a 7% tax?
san4es73 [151]
You take 69 * 0.35 and then take that total (24.15) so 60-24.15= 35.85 then to find the tax take 35.85*.07=2.51 so your answer is 35.85+2.51=38.36
