English immigrants worked as farmers, weavers, blacksmiths, tailors, masons and shoemakers.

Many skilled or semi-skilled laborers got factory jobs too.

Explanation:

English immigrants are people who came from British and settled in U.S during the Civil War. Approximately 1.5 million UK people migrated to United States after Civil War.

Low land price and shortage in labors made a way for the British to settle in America. They started their occupations as farmers, weavers, blacksmiths, tailors, masons and shoemakers.

The migrated British people were skilled or semi-skilled laborers, so they got many job opportunities in the factories. Many of them became very successful business owners too.
