All we're doing is working with fractions.

2/3 is the equivalent of 8/12.

So if we add the fraction 8/12 and 1/12, we should get 9/12.

If the problem asks you to simplify, the answer is 3/4.

So yeah, 45 minutes is the answer.

2/3 is the same as 8/12 is 8/12+1/12 is 9/12 which is also 3/4 or 45 mins

An item sells for $30 and is on sale for 15% off and the sales tax is 8.2%. What is the final cost to the nearest cent?
Ronch [10]

Answer:

$27.59

Step-by-step explanation:

1) First we calculate the sales tax:

30 x .15 = 4.5

30 - 4.5 = 25.5

2) Now we calculate sales tax

25.5 x .082 = 2.09

25.5 + 2.09 = $27.59
