Answer:

Probability that the sample mean score is less than 522 = 0.0166 .

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that in 2010 the mean mathematics SAT score was 555, and the standard deviation was 125 i.e.;

Mean, \mu = 555      and     Standard deviation, \sigma = 125

Also,  Z = \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } ~ N(0,1) where, X bar = sample mean

                                                        n = sample size

Now, Probability(X bar < 522) = P( \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } < \frac{522-555}{\frac{125}{\sqrt{65} } } ) = P(Z < -2.1284)

                                               = P(Z > 2.1284) = 0.0166

The above probability is calculated using z table.

Therefore, the probability that the sample mean score is less than 522 is 0.0166 .

Amiraneli [1.4K]

Answer:

(B)72 fluid ounces

Step-by-step explanation:

To convert cups to fluid ounces, Sari wrote the equivalent ratios.

\dfrac{8 \text{ fluid ounces}}{1\text{ cup}} =\dfrac{\text{? fluid ounces}}{9\text{ cups}}

Let the question mark be represented by x.

We then have:

\dfrac{8 \text{ fluid ounces}}{1\text{ cup}} =\dfrac{\text{x fluid ounces}}{9\text{ cups}}\\$Cross multiply\\x \times 1 = 8 \times 9\\x=72$ fluid ounces

We conclude that there are 72 fluid ounces in 9 cups.

marin [14]
1) from smaller to higher:
1,5,11,11,17

2) find the mean
<span>1 + 5 + 11 + 11 + 17 = </span><span>45
</span>mean = 45/5 = 9

Variance = Σ(x- mean)²/(N-1)
[(1-9)² + (5-9)²+(11-9)² + (11-9)²+ (17-9)² ]'(5-1) =  38

Variance = 38
