I can make 6 pancakes with 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cup milk and 1/3 cup pancake mix. If I have five eggs, 1 1/2 cups pancake mix, and 2 pi

nts milk then how many pancakes can I make? (There are 2 cups per pint and assume I cannot make a partial pancake)
please give a clear explanation on how to solve this because I am SO confused

To begin to solve this problem, we want to find out what ingredients we need to make a single pancake. To do that, we need to use the information already given (what it takes to make 6 pancakes), and divide it by 6.

That means that it takes:

Eggs: 2 ÷ 6 = 1/3

Milk (cups): 1.5 ÷ 6 = 1/4

Pancake Mix (cups): 1/3 ÷ 6 = 1/18

To make 1 pancake.

Now let's look at what it takes to make the number of pancakes with the ingredients we have, 5 eggs, 4 cups of milk (doing the conversion) and 1.5 cups of pancake mix. To find out how many pancakes we can make, we need to know how many times of each ingredient of the unit recipe is in this recipe.

We get:

Eggs: 5 ÷ (1/3) = 15

Milk: 4 ÷ (1/4) = 16

Mix: 1.5 ÷ (1/18) = 27

Looking at these, we take the smallest of these numbers (because we can't have any partial pancakes). That means that we can make 15 pancakes with what's provided to us.

Find the sum of the arithmetic sequence. 5,7,9,11,...,23
eduard

Answer:

140

Step-by-step explanation:

The arithmetic series is 5, 7, 9, 11, ........., 23.

First u have to determine the no. of terms that can be done by using

Tₙ = [a + (n - 1)d]

Tₙ-------nth term

a---------first term

n---------no.of terms in the series

d---------common difference

here a = 5,d = 2.

let it contain n terms Tₙ= [a + (n-1)d]

Substitute Tₙ, a, and d in the equation

23 = 5 + (n - 1)2

Subtract 5 from each side.

18 = (n-1)2

Divide each side by 2

(n - 1) = 9

Add 1 to each side

n = 9 + 1 = 10

The sum of the arithmetic sequence formula: Sₙ= (n/2)[2a+(n-1)d]

Substitute Sₙ, a, n and d in the equation

Sₙ= (10/2)[2(5) + (10-1)2]

Sₙ= (5)[10 + (9)2]

Sₙ= 5[10 + 18]

Sₙ= 5[28] = 140

Therefore the sum of the arithmetic sequence is 140.
