Predict the most likely outcome of culturing transformed E. coli in the presence of tetracycline.Justify your prediction.
My name is Ann [436]

Answer:

E.coli is a bacterium which is preffered for transformation due to its rapid growth and high efficiency of introduction of DNA molecules into cells.

Tetracycline is an antibiotic used to treat several infections such as cholera, plague, brucellosis, and malaria etcetra.

Plasmid is a small, extrachromosomal DNA molecule present in cell which is seprated from chromosomal DNA and have ability to replicate independently.

When a plasmid resistant to tetracycline and kanamycine is inserted into E.coli, the process is called transformation. E.coli might not be able to survive due to absence of plasmid but the transformed strains having antibiotic tetracycline and kanamycine will probably be able to survive it.

Hence, the culture of bacteria carrying plasmid will be able to survive only.

Vestigial structures, such as hip bones in whalesand appendixes in humans, are those that havelittle or no function for the orga
yaroslaw [1]

Answer:

This structure has not been highly beneficial for the organism

Explanation:

Vestigial structures are cells, tissues, and/or organs that have no apparent function. Vestigial structures are retained during the course of the evolution, but often they are degenerate and/or atrophied (due to disuse). In general, these structures are homologous to anatomical structures that play a specific role in evolutionarily related species. Some examples of vestigial structures include, among others, the presence of the appendix in humans and wings in flightless birds.

What is one reason nuclear fuel is a positive alternative to fossil fuels for the creation of electrical energy? A) Nuclear powe
Artyom0805 [142]

Answer is C) - Nuclear power produces no carbon dioxide emissions unlike coal or oil power production.

Nuclear power use natural Uranium to make energy and water is used as cooling process. Hence, nuclear power production uses natural resources.

The waste is very harmful in nuclear power production. That should be managed by a proper way.

Although nuclear power can produce a huge energy, the availability of nuclear power is less than coal and fossil fuels.

But the greatest benefit of nuclear power is, it does not emit carbon dioxide which contributes to global warming.
