Explanation:

i believe it is because the domesticated breeds were bred specifically through generations in order to serve a specific purpose, for example dogs could be bred for hunting or herding, etc and chickens could be bred for eggs or meat, etc. but in the wild, their only job is to survive and reproduce.

SOVA2 [1]

Forests act as habitats for wildlife, acts as carbon sinks, help reduce soil erosion, and influence local and regional climate.

Forest's ecological services

These are services that forests provide for the biotic component of the ecosystem.

Forests serve a wide variety of services to humans and animals. They act as sinks for carbon, provide habitats for wildlife, provide foods for humans and animals, protect watersheds and soils, among several other services.

Forests are also able to influence local and regional climate due to their ability to serve as sinks for carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas capable of causing warming.

Forests, however, may not serve recreational purposes, except they are specifically modified to do such.

Part a the presence of a mutant lac repressor that could not bind lactose would result in _______ transcription even when lactos
Kazeer [188]
The presence of a mutant lac repressor that could not bind lactose would result in no transcription even when lactose was present because the mutant repressor would remain bound to the lac operator

The transcription of lac operator is controlled by the lac repressor. When lactose is present, the lac repressor normally will bind to the lactose, removing itself from the lac operator so it could be transcripted.
In this case, the mutation makes the lac repressor keep binding to the lac operator so the result would be no transcription even when lactose present.

Which statement best explains the relationship between HbS allele frequency and malaria endemicity in Africa? When an area is ma
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer;

When an area is holoendemic, the HbS allele frequency is between 0.52 and 4.04.

Explanation;

 • HbS allele is the sickle cell hemoglobin allele that provides immunity to malaria. This is because people with the sickle cell allele have a selective advantage in areas where there is a high incidence of malaria.
 • Therefore, natural selection will favor the population with HbS allele in a Malaria holoendemic (most individuals are infected) region. The HbS allele frequency in this population is expected to be high.
 • After malaria is cured, the frequency of the HbS allele should decrease in regions with a lot of mosquitoes because having one copy of the HbS allele will no longer be advantageous in these regions.
