We are given that

Max's grade on the first math exam was a 94

so, first exam grade =94

His grade on his seond math exam was an 89

so, second exam grade =89

change in grade=(first exam grade)-(second exam grade)

change in grade=94-89

change in grade=5

Percentage = ( change in grade)/( first exam grade) *100

so, percentage is

=\frac{5}{94}\times 100

so,

the percent of change in Max's grade to the nearest whole percentage was 5%..........Answer

Answer:

<em>The percent of change in grade was "5% decrease"</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

Max's grade on the first math exam was 94 and his grade on his second math exam was 89.

So, the <u>grade is decreased by</u> (94 - 89) = 5

For finding the percentage of change in grade, we will just <u>divide the "grade decreased" by the "initial grade" and then multiply that by 100%</u>.

So,  \frac{5}{94}\times 100\% = \frac{500}{94}\%= 5.31...\% \approx 5\%

Thus, the percent of change in Max's grade to the nearest whole percent was  5% decrease.

galina1969 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Ok let start by putting a set amount of hats, let start with 12, 8 times 12 equals 96, 200-96 is 104… I would subtract 8 until you get a number you can divide equally by 10, 104-8=96, 96-8 =88 , 88-8=80, there is 80 dollars left! Ok 80 divide by 10 = 8 so

8 shirts and we’ll we started at 12 and then we add how many more time we subtracted 8 so 15 total,

So, in total 8 shirts and 15 hats!!!

lesya692 [45]

Answer:

0.0006 = 0.06% probability of this occurrence

Step-by-step explanation:

For each unit, there are only two possible outcomes. Either it is defective, or it is not. The probability of an unit being defective is independent of any other unit, which means that the binomial probability distribution is used to solve this question.

Binomial probability distribution

The binomial probability is the probability of exactly x successes on n repeated trials, and X can only have two outcomes.

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

In which C_{n,x} is the number of different combinations of x objects from a set of n elements, given by the following formula.

C_{n,x} = \frac{n!}{x!(n-x)!}

And p is the probability of X happening.

An electronics firm claims that the proportion of defective units of a certain process is 5%.

This means that p = 0.05

A buyer has a standard procedure of inspecting 15 units selected randomly from a large lot.

This means that n = 15

a) What is the probability of this occurrence?

Probability of 5 defective items, whch is P(X = 5). So

P(X = x) = C_{n,x}.p^{x}.(1-p)^{n-x}

P(X = 5) = C_{15,5}.(0.05)^{5}.(0.95)^{10} = 0.0006

0.0006 = 0.06% probability of this occurrence

1. Jada measured the height of a plant in a science experiment and finds that, to the nearest 1/8 of an inch, it
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

here

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the height(h) of the plant to the nearest 1/4 of an inch is 3/4 inches = 0.75 inches.

it is obvious that the height will lie within the range

Thus,

a. The largest actual height could be 0.875 inches, while

b. The smallest actual height could be 0.625 inches

c. The percentage error is given by the formula

if we take the lowest value, for instance, as the exact, i.e. 0.625 inches, then % error = [(0.75-0.625)/0.75]*100% = 16.7%
