No worries! I'm heading into 7th as well! Just have a positive attitude and get on the good side of your teachers. Work really hard and have confidence and you will be fine. If there is a challenge you can talk to someone trusted like a counselor or adult and they can help you more.

A carpenter needs to cut four sections, each 3–feet 8–inches long, from a piece of molding. If the board is only sold by the foo
KIM [24]

Alright, lets get started.

The length of each section what carpenter needs to cut is 3 feet and 8 inches.

Converting 3 feet and 8 inches into feet only, we know, 12 inches = 1 feet

So, 3 feet 8 inches = 3 +\frac{8}{12} =3 +\frac{2}{3} =\frac{11}{3} feet

It means length of each section = \frac{11}{3} feet

Carpenter needs to cut 4 sections, so length of 4 sections will be = 4*\frac{11}{3}=\frac{44}{3}=14\frac{2}{3} feet

2/3 feet means 8 inches so she needs board 14 feet 8 inches

Board is only sold by the feet only so, she has to puchase 15 feet board.   :   Answer

Hope it will help :)

You made a square card. The card did not fit in the envelope so you trimmed it. You trimmed 4 inches from the length and 5 inche
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

The original dimensions of the card were 9 inches length and 9 inches width

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the original length and width of the card in inches (remember that it was squared originally). The exercise says that the area of the new width, with dimensions x-4 and x-5 is 20 square inches, therefore

(x-4)*(x-5) = 20

x²-9x+20 = 20

x²-9x = 0

x*(x-9) = 0

x = 0 or x = 9

Since x must be positive, then it cant be 0, thus, x has to be 9. The original dimensions of the card were 9 inches length and 9 inches width.

Perform the indicated operation and simplify the result 4x^3/3×(9/x)^3
STatiana [176]
The first thing we are going to do for this case is to rewrite the function correctly.
 We have then:
 \frac{4x^3}{3} *  (\frac{9}{x})^3
 For power properties we have:
 \frac{4x^3}{3} * \frac{9^3}{x^3}
 Canceling similar terms we have:
 \frac{4*9^3}{3}
 Doing the calculations we have:
 972
 Answer:

The result of the expression is:

A 972
