Vinny is the main character, will talk about the dead boy; the ravine is so scary and dangerous. Changes in dialect make characters more believable, more real. It gives insight into who the character is. Vinny feels more concerned about the missing boy than his friends do, this makes him a little afraid or anxious about what will happen next on the hike. Starline is imaginative, curious, energetic, friendly, brave, and probably a leader in many situations.
