Zero on the x-axis is the origin, (0,0) so the distance from the origin to (4,7) is going to be, according the the Pythagorean Theorem...

d^2=x^2+y^2

d^2=4^2+7^2

d^2=16+49

d^2=65

d=√65  since √65=√(5*13) and 5 and 13 are both prime this cannot be simplified any further...

So the distance is just √65 units.  (approximately ≈8.06 units)

Jane took a piece of cardboard and cut out a triangle with measure 32°, 58°, and 90°, and side lengths 5 cm, 12 cm, and 13 cm. W

The answer is A. Right, Scalene.

This is because 90 degrees = a right angle

32 and 58 are smaller than 90, making it acute or scalene.
Isosceles means at least two sides are equal.
Equilateral means all sides are equal.

In this case, it is not isosceles or equilateral because the sides are not unequal.
It isn’t D. because that option doesn’t say “right”

The width of a rectangular prism is six times its length. The height is five times its length. If its length is m units, what is
I am Lyosha [343]

Answer:

30m^3 cubic units.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let m represent length of the rectangular prism.

We have been given that the width of a rectangular prism is six times its length, so width of the prism would be 6m.

We are also told that the height is five times its length, so height of the prism would be 5m.

We know that volume of rectangular prism is height times width times length.

\text{Volume of rectangular prism}=lwh

\text{Volume of rectangular prism}=m\cdot 6m\cdot 5m

\text{Volume of rectangular prism}=30m^3

Therefore, the volume of the given rectangular prism would be 30m^3 cubic units.

Find the equation of a line that passes the points (5, -9) and (0, -3)
kobusy [5.1K]

Answer:

y = -6/5x - 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Point Slope Form:  (y - y1) = m(x - x1)

<u>Step 1:  Find Slope</u>

m = \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

m = \frac{-3 - (-9)}{0 - 5}

m = \frac{-3 + 9}{-5}

m = \frac{6}{-5}

m = \frac{-6}{5}

<u>Step 2:  Plug into Point Slope Form</u>

(y - (-3)) = -6/5(x - 0)

y + 3 - 3 = -6/5x - 3

y = -6/5x - 3

Answer:  y = -6/5x - 3

if i I wanted to be precise, how can I express the exact circumference for the circumference given the diameter
sveticcg [70]
The formula for circumference is \pi d.

To express the circumference exactly, plug the diameter in for d and put the \pi symbol in front of it. Don't multiply. This expresses the exact circumference.

Say you have the diameter of 17.
You can express the circumference with 17\pi.
