The ratio of the number of Yankee fans to Red Sox fans is 5:4 Then there are 72 players

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, the ratio of players to fans is 4 : 20

The ratio of the number of Yankee fans to Red Sox fans is 5:4.

There are 200 Yankee fans.

We have to find how many players are there?

Now, for 5 yankee fans ⇒ 4 red sox fans

Then, for 200 yankee fans ⇒ “n” red sox fans

So, by chris cross method,

\begin{array}{l}{5 \times n=4 \times 200} \\\\ {\rightarrow 5 n=800 \rightarrow n=160}\end{array}

So, there are 200 yankee fans and 160 red sox fans

Then, total number of fans = 200 yankee + 160 red sox = 360 fans

Now, we know that,

For 4 players ⇒ 20 fans

Then, “p” ⇒ 360 fans

Now, by chris cross method,

\begin{array}{l}{4 \times 360=20 \times p} \\\\ {\rightarrow 20 p=4 \times 360} \\\\ {\rightarrow 2 p=4 \times 36} \\\\ {\rightarrow p=2 \times 36 \rightarrow p=72}\end{array}

Hence, there are 72 players

Determine the common ratio and find the next three terms of the geometric sequence t8, t5, t2
attashe74 [19]
The common ratio of the given geometric sequence is the number that is multiplied to the first term in order to get the second term. Consequently, this is also the number multiplied to the second term to get the third term. This cycle goes on and on until a certain term is acquired. In this item, the common ratio r is,

    r = t⁵/t⁸ = t²/t⁵

The answer, r = t⁻³.

The next three terms are,

    n₄ = (t²)(t⁻³) = t⁻¹
    n₅ = (t⁻¹)(t⁻³) = t⁻⁴
    n₆ = (t⁻⁴)(t⁻³) = t⁻⁷

The answers for the next three terms are as reflected above as n₄, n₅, and n₆, respectively.

Find the value of c and YZ if Y is between X and Z. X Y = 5 . 5 , Y Z = 2 c , X Z = 8 . 9
e-lub [12.9K]

The measure of YZ is 3.4 cm and the measure of c is 1.7 cm.

Given that, Y is between X and Z. XY = 5.5 , YZ = 2c , X Z= 8.9.

We need to find the value of c and YZ.

<h3>What is a line segment?</h3>

A line segment is a part of a line that has two endpoints and a fixed length. It is different from a line that does not have a beginning or an end and which can be extended in both directions. In this lesson, we will learn more about a line segment, its symbol, and the way to measure a line segment.

Now, YZ=XZ-XY

⇒2c=8.9-5.5

⇒2c=3.4 cm

⇒c=1.7 cm

Therefore, the measure of YZ is 3.4 cm and the measure of c is 1.7 cm.
