Line a is perpendicular to line b. if the slope of line a is 1/8, what is the slope of line b
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

-8/1

Step-by-step explanation:

Perpendicular lines have opposite slopes., meaning the signs are opposite, and the numerator and denominator are flipped.

Here's another example:

If line a had a slope of 4/5, line b would have a slope of -5/4, if the lines are perpendicular.

A number line is numbered in tenths describe where you would plot 87.35 squared
Aloiza [94]
87.35 squared would be 7,630.02.(87.35)^2 = 7,630.02Rounded off further, it will be 7,630.On a number line numbered in tenths, 7,630.02 could be plotted on 7,630, as rounding off the number to the nearest integer, the answer will be 7,630.

An accident at an oil drilling platform is causing a circular oil slick. The slick is 0.07 foot thick, and when the radius of th
ololo11 [35]

Answer:43.54 ft^3/min

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Thickness of oil slick=0.07 foot

radius of slick=110 ft

\frac{\mathrm{d} r}{\mathrm{d} t}=0.9 ft/s

Let V be the volume of oil slick

so, V=0.07\pi \cdot r^2

rate of oil flowing is

\frac{\mathrm{d} V}{\mathrm{d} t}=0.07\times 2\pi \cdot r\frac{\mathrm{d} r}{\mathrm{d} t}

\frac{\mathrm{d} V}{\mathrm{d} t}=0.07\times 2\pi \times 110\times 0.9=43.54 ft^3/min

Can someone explain how to do numbers 41, 44, and 47 and show all work please?
pantera1 [17]
41. Degree 3 = x^3 (maximum power in the equation)

Zeros: -1, 1, 3

(x-1)(x+1)(x-3)=f(x) <--- expand as necessary

44. Zeros: -4, 0, 2

(x+4)x(x-2)= f(x) <--- expand as necessary

47. Multiplicity is how many times a particular number is 0 for a given function.

(x+1)(x-1)^3(x-2)^3 <-- not too sure about this one, google definition of multiplicity?

Hope I helped :)
