Consider the following hypotheses: H0: mean = 5 H1: mean < 5 A test is performed with a sample of size 25. The sample mean wa

s 4.73 and the population standard deviation is 1.2. Assume that the population is approximately normal. Use the TI-84 PLUS calculator to compute the P-value. Round your answer to four decimal places (for example: 0.0138). Write only a number as your answer.

Answer:

0.1406.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : H_o:\mu = 5

           H_1:\mu < 5

To Find : compute the P-value.

Solution:

Sample size = 25

n < 30

So, we will go for t-test

Now we are given that  the population standard deviation is 1.2.

\sqrt{\frac{s}{n}}=1.2 Where s is the variance

\sqrt{\frac{s}{25}}=1.2

\sqrt{s}=6

s = 6^2

s = 36

So, the variance is 36

we require sample standard deviation for t test

So, Sample standard deviation = \sqrt{\frac{s}{n-1}}

                                                  = \sqrt{\frac{36}{25-1}}

                                                  = 1.2247

Formula of t-test = \frac{m-\mu}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}}

Where s is the standard deviation of sample

Sample mean = 4.73

Mean = \mu = 5

s = 1.2247

n =25

So,  t=\frac{5-4.73}{\frac{1.2247}{\sqrt{25}}}

t=1.1023

So, p value with respect to t-table is 0.1406.

Hence p-value is  0.1406.

saw5 [17]

Answer:

6

Step-by-step explanation:

Mr. Kramer has pencils for his class = 30

Students in his class = 22

Pencils he would like  to give each student = 2

How many more pencils does Mr. Kramer need to buy so that each student will receive 2 pencils = ?

Total pencils Mr. Kramer need to buy so that each student will receive 2 pencils = 22 × 2

            = 44

            = 44 - 30

            = 6

Mr. Kramer need to buy 6 more pencils  so that each student will receive 2 pencils

-Dominant- [34]
The least-square regression line has a slope of:

m=(nΣxy-ΣyΣx)/(nΣx²-ΣxΣx)

and a y-intercept of:

b=(Σy-mΣx)/n

In this case: n=7, Σxy=4899, Σy=391, Σx=85, Σx²=1153 so

m=(7(4899)-391*85)/(7(1153)-85*85))=1058/846

b=(391*846-85*1058)/(7*846)=34408/846

So the line of best fit is:

y=(1058x+34408)/846  and if we approximated this as your answers see to have done....

y=1.25x+40.67

Choose the best answer:
Oksi-84 [34.3K]

Answer:

The length of the hypotenuse is 2 square root of 13 ⇒ c

Step-by-step explanation:

The rule of the area of the right triangle is A = \frac{1}{2} × leg1 × leg2, where

leg1 and leg2 are the sides of the right angle

∵ The area of a right triangle is 12 in²

∵ The ratio of the length of its legs is 2: 3

→ Let leg1 = 2x and leg2 = 3x

∵ leg1 = 2x and leg2 = 3x

→ Substitute them in the rule of the area above

∴ 12 = \frac{1}{2} × 2x × 3x

∵ 2x × 3x = 6x²

∴ 12 =  \frac{1}{2} × 6x²

∴ 12 = 3x²

→ Divide both sides by 3 to find x²

∴ 4 = x²

→ Take √ for both sides

∴ x = 2

→ Substitute x in the expressions of leg1 and leg2 to find them

∴ leg1 = 2(2) = 4 inches

∴ leg2 = 3(2) = 6 inches

∵ hypotenuse = \sqrt{(leg1)^{2}+(leg2)^{2}}

∴ hypotenuse = \sqrt{(4)^{2}+(6)^{2}}=\sqrt{16+36}=\sqrt{52}

∵ The simplest form of \sqrt{52} = 2\sqrt{13}

∴ The length of the hypotenuse = 2\sqrt{13} inches
